My whole career strategy has been to build a base so that I could take the roles I want to play. I'd hate to think that a shorter part might not be available because I was worried about my billing.

I was in love with this character of Ray Krebbs. I wanted the part badly. I had done several Western films in my career at that point and there wasn't much opportunity then to play Western roles on television at that time.

I really don't have any kind of strategy for my career. I don't believe in strategy in this business. I just don't believe in it. It would make me crazy to think that I could somehow be in the right movie or do the right thing.

There are always good parts. They may not pay what you want, and they may not have as many days' work as you want, they may not have the billing that you want, they may not have a lot of things, but - the content of the role itself - I find there are many roles.

Sisterly Flaws
I hate you.
I hate when we laugh,
I hate when we stay up late, as I am always tired.
I hate the way you take me places,
and include me in your fun,
I hate the way you say you love me,
and ask me to go for a run.
I hate when you jump out and scare me,
I hate when you make bad jokes.
I hate when you want some sisterly time,
I hate when you ask me to pull your finger.
I hate when we go for a walk,
I hate when you embarass me,
I hate when we reminise.
I hate when you make a mess, and then yell out it was Dave.
I hate when you want to write a song with me.
I hate that you are shorter then me
I hate that your jokes arent funny.
Just one last thing I'd like to say,
did you remember,
ITS OPPOSITE DAY?

Lies About Tall Guys
Just seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys seem to get executive jobs
Shorter guys work mostly as clerks
Taller guys never seem to be slobs
Shorter guys always seem to be jerks
Taller guys seem to get all of the action
Shorter guys seem to be quite invisible
Taller guys always seem to deserve satisfaction
Shorter guys are lonely and miserable
Just seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys just seem born to play sports
Shorter guys kinda seem to like tennis
Taller guys certainly look better in shorts
Shorter guys look like Dennis the Menace
Taller guys are usually at the top of their class
Shorter guys seem to fail quite a lot
Taller guys always seem to kick ass
Shorter guys want to, but simply cannot
sure seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys get better grades and such
Shorter guys seem to barely scrape by
Taller guys seem to do better, pretty much
Shorter guys always wonder why
Taller guys seem to have eyes like a hawk
Shorter guys seem to wear glasses a lot
Taller guys cover more ground when they walk
Shorter guys, to keep up, have to trot
Sure seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys and their friends look like N.B.A players
Shorter guys look more like cheerleaders
Taller guys seem to look like dragon slayers
Shorter guys look a lot more like bleeders
Taller guys seem to have more gear to protect
Shorter guys wear more protective gear
Taller guys, more confidence seem to project
Shorter guys have less confidence, more fear
Really seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys appeal to the female gender
Shorter guys always seem to choke
Taller guys carry a lot more legal tender
Shorter guys always seem to be broke
Taller guys seem to drive high dollar cars
Shorter guys drive toyotas
Taller guys seem to reach for the stars
Shorter guys reach for diet sodas
Taller guys are obnoxious, let’s neuter them all
Shorter guys are great people, always a delight
Taller guys are an abomination against mother nature’s law
If you think I’m a short guy….well, you’re right!
Really seems like the way it should be

We Are Worried
We are worried
Our once prosperous land
Is now a beggar
We are worried
Our incandescent light
Is now blurred
We are worried
Love no longer co-habits
On our wide streets
We are worried
That brothers slaughter brothers
All in the name of God
We are worried
How vultures prey
On our commonwealth
We are worried
The gap gets wider
Between the rich and the poor
We are worried
About our youths
Whose destinies are bleak.
We are worried
That the ship may sink
Like the titanic.
We are worried
We do not know who to trust
We are worried of many things

Let me just worry about me. I'm not worried about anyone else. If you're doing fine, great; if you're struggling, I hope things get better for you. But I've got to be worried about my career.

Like all things, not being typecast in Hollywood it's a blessing and a curse. There is probably added simplicity to a career where you can be identified for the kinds of roles you can - and should - play as an actor.

Needless To Worry
I’ve almost spent my days
In worrying on things along my way.
I’m worried about my husband
What if he finds someone?
I’m worried about my daughter
Can she pursue her career?
I’m worried about my eldest son
What if he encounters a troublesome?
I’m worried about my youngest
Can he cope with his classmates?
I’m worried about money.
I’m so concerned about the health of the family.
I think of the weather and calamity.
Too much to say I’m afraid of the disaster.
This is really true all of these I’ve encountered.
Not now that I’ve been closer to Jesus.
I stopped worrying on any issues.
No matter how dark the world is
With His guidance I can handle this.
I believe the Lord controls the affair
So I must not committed to be afraid.
The Lord is big enough for me
He’s the only one who knows what the future will be.
I will not be a prisoner of worry again!

My career has been 65% virgin and 35% whore. I've refused roles many times because I'd have to lose my integrity, my dreams of doing something worthwhile with regard to character. That's the virgin part of me.

When my career first began, I didn't have children - so there's a whole lot of difference in the way I choose roles now. Not just films for my children, but how long I'm going to be away, and is Dad going to be home while I'm gone. That sort-of factor plays a part.

Act the Part
I am an actor on this stage of life.
My role is factored into all the scenes
Beginning with an innocent delight.
My birth and babbling lines by any means
Directed all attention to this part.
A ham at birth and cute, I was a star.
The photographs and modeling apart
From some occasional fluffing thus far
I acted many roles that came my way.
Until my public image lost its lure
I found myself without a scene to play
Except the one where life shown me the door
A role I never played in my career
An empty lonely man, alone in tears.

The Hate Poem
I hate when you look at me
and lie to my face
I hate how you date me
just to get to third base
I hate having feelings
for someone like you
I hate how you look at me
the way that you do
I hate all the lies
that you have put inside
I hate how my heart hurts
because you have lied
I hate the way
this relationship has ended
you broke my heart
and left it unmended

Hate
You build me up and then you break me down and build me again
Emotions weaken
My blood is filled with lust knowing someone is wanting to kill me
We all go someday
I get so much more from this than you do (than you do)
I get so much more from this than you (than you)
Haaaate!
You wanna feed your hate!
You wanna free your hate!
You wanna feed your hate!

Come on get up!
Come on get up!
Come on get up!
There must be someway I can better my health to save me
From all the bad things that feel so good
You must be joking, you dont even know a thing about it
It's what you understood
I get so much more from this than you do (than you do)
I get so much more from this than you (than you)
Haaaate!
You wanna feed your hate!
You wanna free your hate!
You wanna feed your hate!
You wanna free your...
Come on get up!

I'm Not Worried At All
all round me burdens
seem to fall
I'm not worried at all
I'm not worried at all
I don't worry
all day long
all round me burdens
seem to fall
I'm not worried at all
I'm not worried at all
just I'm not evil
I just can not see
he told me to pray
just for me
all round me burdens
seem to fall
I'm not worried at all
I'm not worried at all

I wanted to play a mother again. I thought it would be interesting to play the mother of an older child. And it was also the kind of part I've been looking for my whole career, actually, in film. You know, just to play a femme fatale who's very smart, and wicked.

I Hate...
I hate,
hate that I can't trust
I hate,
hate that I must lie because they'd rather believe I'm fine.
I hate,
hate who I've been.
I hate,
hate to make decisions.
I hate,
hate that I can't hate those I should.
I hate,
hate my life.
I hate,
hate that I can't die.
I hate,
hate to live in fear and hate.
I hate,
hate my uncertainty.
I hate,
hate the lies people tell me.
I hate,
hate that I believe.
I hate,
hate those that wish their lives were mine.
I hate,
hate all emotion that's mine.
I hate,
hate that I need others.
I hate,
hate my own d*mn incompetence.
I hate,
hate that there's so much to hate.
