I like movies about longing and desperation, and dark and light things, stories about people struggling to raise children, and to have relationships and be intimate with each other.

Intimate relationships cannot substitute for a life plan. But to have any meaning or viability at all, a life plan must include intimate relationships.

Someday
Music: michael w. smith
Words:david mullen and michael w. smith
I know there's a prayer flowing from
The longing for the healing to come
Someday no more dark, aching nights
Someday i will open your eyes
The light will come and i will set you free
Sometimes there's a joy in the pain
Sometimes peace that can't be explained
Some find a longing there in their souls
Someday i will make all things whole
I promise to set the children free.
Someday you'll find your place in the sun
Someday when all hearts beat as one
You'll sing with the heart of a child
Someday when the river runs wild
My father comes to set his children free.
Some say it's a vision
Some say it's just a dream
I say it's a promise
A covenant, a destiny
I will come to set my children free.
Someday what the young ones have dreamed
Someday all you've hoped and believed
Will be, you will all understand
The longing placed inside every man
Overcomes the world and sets the children free
And i will come to set my children free.

Children's Stories
Children's stories seem just that,
Only stories,
Nothing more,
And nothing less,
But what we do not see,
Is that they are more,
They give children things to believe in,
They give them rules to life,
They tell them mistakes,
So they dont have to make them too,
They show them lessons,
They give reason to ways,
Childrens stories,
Give children reasons to live.

The best stories today are in the temple - the movie theater. I think more people go to movies than go to church. Great movies made me who I am.

Sela
You know sometimes I sit and wonder
Just how this world would be
If we had all the people laughing
And everybody living in harmony
Wed have to say sela sela
Talking to the people sela, sela
There would be no more living in desperation
And no more hatred and deceit
Tell me, can you imagine
All the children playing
And everyone dancing in the street
We say sela, sela
Talking to yourself sela, sela
You play it for the people
Yeah, for the people
Its time for everyone
To come together
I know its hard
But this dream must come to light on
Because tonight should be
One big celebration
Im talking to you now
Only we can make things right
We say sela, sela, sela, sela baby
Talk about, sing about, talk about sela
Talk about sela
Oh the children
Tell me about the children
Weve got to help them now to survive
Well, one world
One heart is our salvation
Let us keep the dream alive
We say sela, sela, sela
I know sela, I know sela, sela, sela ...

It's very difficult to judge relationships from the outside. You never know what happens in intimate moments with two people to know why they really support and love each other.

Stories
when we were young stories were told
That I'd kiss you sweet like
People said there was a connection between us
Now that we're old stories are told
Of how I hold you tight
Whenever I see those people I tell them they were right
Stories will be told
From when our children are young
until they're old
About our endless love
We must have had a blessing from above
Stories will be told until we're old
Stories will be told until the end of time
Stories will be told until we're old
Stories will be told until the end of time
Until the sun won't rise
Oh

On The Trail Of Pessoa
i've walked this road for so long,
that i know what silence tastes like.
i hear only the simple sounds,
or the simplicity of sound...
i no longer confuse shadows,
and i sleep with dogs.
owning nothing,
there's nothing i would kill
to purchase!
there are no footprints
in front of me,
i follow no one.
intimate encounters with strangers,
for we are all strangers,
even to ourselves.
perhaps a word or two,
or not...
we share the cup, and the fire.
i have long conversations with trees,
read intimate stories
written in branches and leaves...
sing lovesongs to small pools of water,
pick up the broken shell of the hatchling
with awe....
my eyes bow in reverence
in the presence of women...
small children come to me,
tell me stories about dreams.
we build kingdoms of sticks,
discarded by birds....
stray cats sit on my lap,
i learn the language of paw.
i listen to the wind
humming in the spider's web.
and dead things rest
by the side of my chair...
waiting for dawn, just waiting!

In the twentieth century one of the most personal relationships to have developed is that of the person and the state. It's become a fact of life that governments have become very intimate with people, most always to their detriment.

As Fast As Mohammad Ali (Fun Poem 77)
If I was as fast as Mohammad Ali
I could switch the light off
and be in bed before it went dark.
Sadly, I am not that quick.
When I switch the light off
and it, goes dark
I’m struggling around
to reach my bed,
bumping into things
left and right.
It gets so bad
that I have to struggle back
to switch on the light.
So if you are like me
not as quick as Mohammad Ali.
Here is a little trick tip do,
study where everything is placed,
then turn off the light.
It saves all those bangs and bumps
for another day.

Everybody wants blockbusters. I like to see a few pictures now and then that have to do with people and have relationships, and that's what I want to do films about. I don't want to see these sci-fi movies, and I don't want to do one of those. I don't understand it.

Children Today
I open the way of feeling to everyone
Who glances in my direction that stays.
I frustrate the coldness of the air today,
Eerie are the ways we splendidly follow
Like the cattle and children of our day.
I have seen many wonders in children of light,
Light encompasses their being, it is essential
To their upbringing, to their destiny.
My authors and children contemplate
For a day to begin their tragedy.
This is a comedy of alertness, inside us,
As children the feelings rise and fall
Like the waves of the sea and river.
In our country we see children
And more of them as well tonight.
I have offensives and defenses today,
Like the children of risk and despair
Inwardly talking like the very desperation.
My conversation never appalled the distinct
Who offered their own children to oldness.

The Light That Is Felt
A tender child of summers three,
Seeking her little bed at night,
Paused on the dark stair timidly.
'Oh, mother! Take my hand,' said she,
'And then the dark will all be light.'
We older children grope our way
From dark behind to dark before;
And only when our hands we lay,
Dear Lord, in Thine, the night is day,
And there is darkness nevermore.
Reach downward to the sunless days
Wherein our guides are blind as we,
And faith is small and hope delays;
Take Thou the hands of prayer we raise,
And let us feel the light of Thee!

Children of the World #1
In our every day lives, we tend to forget others
needs. We stay in our own back yards, and never
venture outside our gate. Forget to look at the
children of the world struggling to exist daily.
Hardly enough to eat, wearing rags for clothing,
housing in shacks, drinking polluted water. This is a
shame to humanity.
God did not mean for it to be this way. These little
ones are at the mercy of the world. This could be our
children. In a sense it is, for we are our brothers
keeper.
We are lucky to be born in this country. With it's
faults, it is still the most respectable on earth.
I truely believe as we supply the little ones, God
will resupply us. For children tug at his heart strings.
When we touch a childs life, you are touching God's
heart. As we help the children in their desperation
God will reward us for our generosity.

Dark Canyons Of Lost Souls
Twisting, turning, groping, along the darkened canyons of my soul,
Stumbling blindly, feeling the cold slimy fabric of my existence.
The beings of this world are crazy, driven, obscene, and insane,
With lives of real desperation, hearts full of sorrow and pain.
I raise my voice in anguish,
And scream in fear and despair.
I beg for the light of reason,
To reach me way down here.
Evil, disgusting, and hateful, with greed and lust as their mores,
Raping children, spending their essence, in the bellies of whores.
In this pit, this dungeon of hell, are fantasies of sex and desire.
Where evil must be obtained and yet escape the wrath of hells fire.
I raise my voice in anguish,
I scream in fear and despair,
I beg for the light of goodness,
To reach me way down here.
Gluttony is practiced with fervor in every manner they know,
Consumption is the real god of the vipers in the pit here below.
Raise me up from the quagmire of murder, of rape and conceit.
Help me find my way out of the canyons of darkness and deceit.
I raise my voice in anguish,
I scream in fear and despair,
I beg for the light of peace,
To reach us way down here.
Lead me up to shining mountains, in the light of the golden glow.
Let me walk through the silver clouds, and roll in crystal snow.
Let me breathe the clean air of freedom and soar on eagles wings.
I'll look down on darkened canyons and dream of lovely things.
No raising my voice in anguish,
No screaming in fear or despair,
No begging for light and reason,
Because I'll not be down here.

The Longing Is The Heart Of The Poem
THE LONGING IS THE HEART OF THE POEM
The longing is the heart of the poem
The longing for so much
Which will never be again-
The longing to be young again
To love again
In a true and deep way-
The longing for all the times and people
Who are not
And never will be again-
The longing which tells me again and again
How much we lose in merely living
How deep and rich life is
In time and ways and people
Beyond our ever remembering and recollecting fully-
The longing is for so much that is gone
For so much that will never be again-
Life itself is a longing for life itself
And life goes beyond itself in so many ways-
All the longing all my longing
Will never bring it back
even that
which is always here.

There are movies that require fantasy and slightly more fantastical acting. Lines that are good for certain movies, in real life circumstances, would be absolutely unbelievable things to really say, and you would look at these people like they're freaks for conversing that way. But somehow for certain styles of movies, it works, and it seems fine.
