Phyllida and Corydon

In the merry month of May,
In a morn by break of day,
With a troop of damsels playing
Forth I rode, forsooth, a-maying,
When anon by a woodside,
Where as May was in his pride,
I espied, all alone,
Phyllida and Corydon.

Much ado there was, God wot!
He would love, and she would not:
She said, never man was true;
He says, none was false to you.
He said, he had loved her long:
She says, Love should have no wrong.

Corydon would kiss her then,
She says, maids must kiss no men,
Till they do for good and all.
Then she made the shepherd call
All the heavens to witness, truth
Never loved a truer youth.
Thus with many a pretty oath,
Yea, and nay, and faith and troth!--
Such as silly shepherds use
When they will not love abuse;
Love, which had been long deluded,
Was with kisses sweet concluded:
And Phyllida, with garlands gay,
Was made the lady of the May.

Astrophel's Song Of Phyllida And Corydon

Fair in a morn (O fairest morn!),
Was never morn so fair,
There shone a sun, though not the sun
That shineth in the air.
For the earth, and from the earth,
(Was never such a creature!)
Did come this face (was never face
That carried such a feature).
Upon a hill (O blessèd hill!
Was never hill so blessèd),
There stood a man (was never man
For woman so distressed):
This man beheld a heavenly view,
Which did such virtue give
As clears the blind, and helps the lame,
And makes the dead man live.
This man had hap (O happy man!
More happy none than he);
For he had hap to see the hap
That none had hap to see.
This silly swain (and silly swains
Are men of meanest grace):
Had yet the grace (O gracious gift!)
To hap on such a face.
He pity cried, and pity came
And pitied so his pain,
As dying would not let him die
But gave him life again.
For joy whereof he made such mirth
As all the woods did ring;
And Pan with all his swains came forth
To hear the shepherd sing;
But such a song sung never was,
Nor shall be sung again,
Of Phyllida the shepherds' queen,
And Corydon the swain.
Fair Phyllis is the shepherds' queen,
(Was never such a queen as she,)
And Corydon her only swain
(Was never such a swain as he):
Fair Phyllis hath the fairest face
That ever eye did yet behold,
And Corydon the constant'st faith
That ever yet kept flock in fold;
Sweet Phyllis is the sweetest sweet
That ever yet the earth did yield,
And Corydon the kindest swain
That ever yet kept lambs in field.
Sweet Philomel is Phyllis' bird,
Though Corydon be he that caught her,
And Corydon doth hear her sing,
Though Phyllida be she that taught her:
Poor Corydon doth keep the fields
Though Phyllida be she that owes them,
And Phyllida doth walk the meads,
Though Corydon be he that mows them:
The little lambs are Phyllis' love,
Though Corydon is he that feeds them,
The gardens fair are Phyllis' ground,
Though Corydon is he that weeds them.
Since then that Phyllis only is
The only shepherd's only queen;
And Corydon the only swain
That only hath her shepherd been,--
Though Phyllis keep her bower of state,
Shall Corydon consume away?
No, shepherd, no, work out the week,
And Sunday shall be holiday.

Phyllida's Love-Call

Phyllida. CORYDON, arise, my Corydon!
   Titan shineth clear.
Corydon. Who is it that calleth Corydon?
Who is it that I hear?
Phyl. Phyllida, thy true love, calleth thee,
   Arise then, arise then,
Arise and keep thy flock with me!
Cor. Phyllida, my true love, is it she?
I come then, I come then,
I come and keep my flock with thee.

Phyl. Here are cherries ripe for my Corydon;
   Eat them for my sake.
Cor. Here 's my oaten pipe, my lovely one,
   Sport for thee to make.
Phyl. Here are threads, my true love, fine as silk,
To knit thee, to knit thee,
A pair of stockings white as milk.
Cor. Here are reeds, my true love, fine and neat,
To make thee, to make thee,
A bonnet to withstand the heat.

Phyl. I will gather flowers, my Corydon,
   To set in thy cap.
Cor. I will gather pears, my lovely one,
   To put in thy lap.
Phyl. I will buy my true love garters gay,
   For Sundays, for Sundays,
To wear about his legs so tall.
Cor. I will buy my true love yellow say,
   For Sundays, for Sundays,
To wear about her middle small.

Phyl. When my Corydon sits on a hill
   Making melody--
Cor. When my lovely one goes to her wheel,
   Singing cheerily--
Phyl. Sure methinks my true love doth excel
   For sweetness, for sweetness,
Our Pan, that old Arcadian knight.
Cor. And methinks my true love bears the bell
   For clearness, for clearness,
Beyond the nymphs that be so bright.

Phyl. Had my Corydon, my Corydon,
   Been, alack! her swain--
Cor. Had my lovely one, my lovely one,
   Been in Ida plain--
Phyl. Cynthia Endymion had refused,
   Preferring, preferring,
   My Corydon to play withal.
Cor. The Queen of Love had been excused
   Bequeathing, bequeathing,
   My Phyllida the golden ball.

Phyl. Yonder comes my mother, Corydon!
   Whither shall I fly?
Cor. Under yonder beech, my lovely one,
   While she passeth by.
Phyl. Say to her thy true love was not here;
   Remember, remember,
   To-morrow is another day.
Cor. Doubt me not, my true love, do not fear;
   Farewell then, farewell then!
   Heaven keep our loves alway!

Corydon's Supplication To Phyllis

Sweet Phyllis, if a silly swain
May sue to thee for grace,
See not thy loving shepherd slain
With looking on thy face;
But think what power thou hast got
Upon my flock and me;
Thou seest they now regard me not,
But all do follow thee.
And if I have so far presumed,
With prying in thine eyes,
Yet let not comfort be consumed
That in thy pity lies;
But as thou art that Phyllis fair,
That fortune favour gives,
So let not love die in despair
That in thy favour lives.
The deer do browse upon the briar,
The birds do pick the cherries;
And will not Beauty grant Desire
One handful of her berries?
If it be so that thou hast sworn
That none shall look on thee,
Yet let me know thou dost not scorn
To cast a look on me.
But if thy beauty make thee proud,
Think then what is ordain'd;
The heavens have never yet allow'd
That love should be disdain'd.
Then lest the fates that favour love
Should curse thee for unkind,
Let me report for thy behoof,
The honour of thy mind;
Let Corydon with full consent
Set down what he hath seen,
That Phyllida with Love's content
Is sworn the shepherds' queen.

Ill Still Love You More

(written by diane warren)
Ask me how much you mean to me
And I wouldnt even know where to start
Ask if this love runs deep in me
And you wont find a deeper love in any heart
You could say you couldnt live one day without me
You could say all of your thoughts are about me
You could think no other love could be as strong
But youd be wrong
Youd be wrong
If you say that you love me
More than anybody
Than anyones ever been loved before
As much as you love me
Baby, Ill still love you
Baby, Ill still love you more
Ill still love you more
Ask me just what Id do for you
And Ill tell you I would do anything
Ask if this heart beats true for you
And Ill show you a truer heart could never be
You could say theres not a star that you wont bring me
You could say therell be no day that you wont need me
You could think no other love could last as long
But youd be wrong
Youd be wrong
If you say that you love me
More than anybody
Than anyones ever been loved before
As much as you love me
Baby, Ill still love you
Baby, Ill still love you more
Ill still love you more
And for every kiss
Ill kiss you back a hundred times
And for everything you do
Ill just do more
And for all the love you give
Ill give you so much back youll see
Got so much love for you inside
If you say that you love me
More than anybody
Than anyones ever been loved before
As much as you love me
Baby, Ill still love you
Baby, Ill still love you more
Ill still love you more
If you say that you love me
More than anybody
Than anyones ever been loved before
No matter how much you love me
Baby, Ill still love you
Baby, Ill still love you more, yeah
Ill still love you more

Kisses For You...

I once heard these words in a song;
'You must remember this...a kiss is
just a kiss...a sigh is just a sigh, ' etc.

With you...nothing...nothing, could be
further from the truth.

Your kiss, is a ride among the stars,
a shower of moon beams and a
sailboat ride, in the Garden Of Eden.

Kissing you...is an out of body experience,
a transport to paradise and a creation
of ultimate passion and joy.

Kissing, every part of who you are, is
truly a banquet of love.

Let me feast of your love and of your lips,
for I am in love with you. Let me always
kiss your mouth...eyes...all of you.

Let us ride the feathers of angels, through
starlit nights-holding...kissing, for now...
and evermore.

Your kiss...touch...embrace, has captured
my heart...my very soul.

I send you this kiss...for the lips
I can not do without.

Song From Marriage-A-La-Mode

Why should a foolish marriage vow,
Which long ago was made,
Oblige us to each other now,
When passion is decayed?
We loved, and we loved, as long as we could,
Till our love was loved out in us both;
But our marriage is dead when the pleasure is fled:
'Twas pleasure first made it an oath.

If I have pleasures for a friend,
And farther love in store,
What wrong has he whose joys did end,
And who could give no more?
'Tis a madness that he should be jealous of me,
Or that I should bar him of another;
For all we can gain is to give ourselves pain,
When neither can hinder the other.

Once on a Golden Day

Once on a golden day,
In the golden month of May,
I gave my heart away--
Little birds were singing.

I culled my heart in truth,
Wet with the dews of youth,
For love to take, forsooth--
Little flowers were springing.

Love sweetly laughed at this,
And between kiss and kiss
Fled with my heart in his:
Winds warmly blowing.

And with his sun and shower
Love kept my heart in flower,
As in the greenest bower
Rose richly glowing.

Till, worn at evensong,
Love dropped my heart among
Stones by the way ere long;
Misprizèd token.

There in the wind and rain,
Trampled and rent in twain,
Ne'er to be whole again,
My heart lies broken.

I Have Loved

It is true, I have loved,
About fifty times, I have loved
And each time I have loved,
The more I have loved...
And in you I have loved,
At the most I have loved,
At the best I have loved,
Because you are loved...
And if that isn't love,
As some would call love,
Then they don't know love
And may never know love...
Yet, for me, this is love,
For the one that I love,
For as long as I love,
Near the heart that I love
Of the sweetheart I love...
And you are my sweetheart, my love...

Love...

LOVE…

I LOVE THE CONCEPT OF LOVE
TO BE IN LOVE
TO FEEL LOVE

BUT I HAVE ABUSED THE WORD OF LOVE
USED THE ONE WHO LOVED

I LOVE THE FEELING OF LOVE
THE DEPTH OF LOVE

BUT I HAVE RUINED THE EMOTION OF LOVE
THE SENSITIVITY OF LOVE

I LOVE TO BE TOUCHED BY LOVE
MADE BY LOVE
MAKE LOVE

BUT I HAVE MISTREATED THE CARESS FROM LOVE
THE KISS OF LOVE

I LOVE TO LOVED BY LOVE
BOUND BY LOVE

BUT I HAVE LOST THAT LOVE
I BROKE MY LOVE
AND NEGLECTED OUR LOVE

I LOVE TO PICTURE LOVE
PAINT LOVE

BUT I HAVE DRIED LOVE
STOLEN LOVE

I LOVE TO WALK WITH LOVE
TALK TO ME LOVE
SAY IT AGAIN LOVE
OVER AND OVER…LOVE
BUT I HAVE RAN FROM LOVE
MUTED THE WORD LOVE
AGAIN AND AGAIN…LOVE

I LOVE TO LOVE YOU STILL LOVE
FEEL LOVE
HEAR LOVE
SPEAK LOVE

LOVE ME LOVE
LOVE MY KIND OF LOVE
LOVE THIS LOVE
LOVE…LOVE…LOVE...

I AM LOVE…

Loved
Written by Ricky Wilde & Terry Ronald
Take all your goodness and shiness away
I'll tell you the things I've been longing to say
I'll break it to you just so you understand
The force and control that you hold in your hands
Make me the beat of your heart
Then fall into mine
One step at a time
You have no reason for doubting your feelings
Love isn't always the same
You are loved
You are loved
You are loved
You I love
You
You are loved
You are loved
You are loved
You I love
You
(Ooh you are loved)
Live for the moment according to you
And so when the time comes you know what to do
Trust me, I'm giving no secret away
I'm drowning in you but I want it that way
Make me the beat of your heart
Then fall into mine
One step at a time
You have no reason for doubting your feelings
Love isn't always the same
You are loved
You are loved
You are loved
You I love
You

Rise to my world, fly to my arms
I love you
I'll make it for good, I'll make it forever
you know you are loved
Make me the beat of your heart
Love isn't always the same

Hold On Lynette The Horses Are Coming

Lynette was a beautiful baby
A true joy to her ma and pa
Free from oriningal sin she was
The whole family was in awe

She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved

One day she woke with fever
There was snow and wind and cold
The car was stuck at the end of the drive
To the doctor they could not go

She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved

Quick hook-up the team and the sleigh
By horse she'll surely make it
Hold on Lynette the horses are coming
Let's take some time to say how much we love you

She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved

Manes a flyin' tales a whippin'
The horse's plowed right through
Muscles a bulgin' and hides a sweating
Let's take some time to say how much we love you

She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved

Well by horse they surely made it
By horse they surely did
Just in time to tell them
There was nothing they could do for her

She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved

Well, for all those ma's and pa's out there
Who've lost their little ones
This songs not about a child dying
It's of a parent's love

One day on earth is just the same
as one year or fifty or a hundred
The only difference my friends
Is in the love you been giving and receiving

Love love love
Love love love
Love love love
Love love love

Hold on Lynette the horses are coming
Let's take some time to say how much we love you

MORNING STAR

It is true, I have loved,
About fifty times, I have loved
And each time I have loved,
The more I have loved...
And in you I have loved,
At the most I have loved,
At the best I have loved,

And may never know love...
Yet, for me, this is love,
For the one that I love,
For as long as I love,
Near the heart that I love
Of the sweetheart I love...
And you are my sweetheart, my love...

This is a love poem dedicated to
the character 'Morning Star'
in the western film 'Broken Arrow'.
Her thoughts blossomed with true love...
Her sweet heart and her beauty
will warm my heart forever.
Superbly played by Debra Paget:

Who's Right, Who's Wrong

Who's Right Who's Wrong
Kenny Loggins
(This Is It)
I've grown tired of fighting
Whether you're right or wrong
Whether I'm weak or strong in your eyes
'Cause this is a lonely feeling
Watching you turn away
Why does it have to be this way?
On and on tonight
You've made a point of being right
Making this a game instead of love
You should know
Where this goes.
Someone's heart will surely be broken
Before too long
If we keep on playing this game
Of right or wrong
CHORUS
Who's Right, Who's Wrong
When love is gone?
Who's right or wrong -- false or true
Never used to matter to you.
You're almost crying
Saying "I've gotta run"
Easier said than done
Tell me why
I want to know what you're hiding
Turn around and look at me
I've never been this hard to see before
If we'd only come together
For a moment here tonight
You could hold me tight
And ease your troubled mind
You should know
Where this goes
Someone's heart will surely be broken
Before too long,
If we keep on playing this game
Of right or wrong.
Right or wrong, lady
Right or wrong, baby
I'm right, you're wrong lady
You're right, I'm wrong, baby
Talkin' about who's right or wrong
It never really matters
when your love is gone
Sayin' it out
This right is wrong
If all our lovin' is gone.

Long Haired Lady

Well, well, well, well, well,
Do you love me like you know you ought to do?
Well, well, well, well, well,
Or is this the only thing you want me for?
Well, Ive been meaning to talk to you about it for sometime,
Sweet little lass, you are my long haired lady.
Whos the lady that makes that brief occasional laughter?
Shes the lady we wears those flashing eyes.
Wholl be taking her ome when all the dancing is over?
Im the lucky man she will hypnotize.
Long haired lady. long haired lady.
Ah, love is long, love is long, love is long.
Ah, when youre wrong, love is long, love is long.
Well, well, well, well, well,
Do you love me like you know you ought to do?
Well, well, well, well, well,
Or is this the only thing you want me for?
Well, Ive been meaning to talk to you about it for sometime,
Sweet little lass, you are my long haired lady.
Bells are buzzing about my sweet delectable baby,
Birds are humming about their big surprise.
Whos your favorite person, dear phenomenal lady?
I belong to the girl with flashing eye.
Long haired lady. long haired lady.
Ah, sing your song, love is long, love is long.
Ah, love is long, love is long, love is long.

Silly Love Songs / Reprise

You'd Think That People Would Have Had Enought Of Silly Love Songs.
But I Look Around Me And I See It Isn't So.
Some People Wanna Fill The World With Silly Love Songs.
And What's Wrong With That?
I'd Like To Know, 'Cause Here I Go Again
I Love You, I Love You,
I Love You, I Love You.
I Can't Explain The Feeling's Plain To Me; Say Can't You See?
Ah, She Gave Me More, She Gave It All To Me
Now Can't You See, What's Wrong With That
I Need To Know, 'Cause Here I Go Again
I Love You, I Love You.
Love Doesn't Come In A Minute,
Sometimes It Doesn't Come At All
I Only Know That When I'm In It
It Isn't Silly, No, It Isn't Silly, Love Isn't Silly At All.
How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
(I Loveyou)
How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
(I Loveyou)
[Repeat And Fade]

Love

Love is pain,
Love is vain,
Love is a game,
Love also can be a shame,
You told me you loved me,
But yet you told her you loved her,
My heart is sinking,
My heart is leaking,
I told you once,
I told you twice,
Never break my heart,
Yet you kept on breaking my heart,
Let me to believe that you loved me,
Those three words made me think that I loved you to,
Love made me blind,
Love fooled me once,
This time I am not playing your childish games.
