I Felt Like Smashing My Face In A Clear Glass Window

All day long I felt like
Smashing my face in a clear glass window.
But instead, I went out
And smashed up a phone box round the corner.
I never had a chance to choose my own parents,
Id never know why I should be stuck with mine.
Mommys always trying not to eat
And daddys always smelling like hes pickled in booze.
I never had a chance to choose my own name,
Id never know why I should be stuck with mine.
Mommys always talkin bout family pride
And daddys always hiding bout his week-end rides.
All day long I felt like
Smashing my face in a clear glass window.
But instead, I went out
And smashed up a station wagon round the block.
I looked at the mirror and told myself,
Im glad I still dont look like them at least.
Mommys like a film star in a distorted mirror,
Daddys like a guy who lost his stomach in the war.
I went to shake hands with the president in miami,
I went to a rock show to see mick jagger.
And youd never believe it, surprise to my life,
They had paint on their faces just like mommys.
Am I going crazy or is it just you, daddy?
Am I going nuts or is it just you, mommy?
Am I plain gone or is it the world?
Daddy, Id rather have you dead than crazy.
Trying to talk to them is like eating tv dinner when youre angry,
Trying to get their love is like watching ice cream ad when youre hungry.
They gave me a watch thats guaranteed not to break
But my mommy and daddy broke up last fall.
Am I going crazy or is it just you, daddy?
Am I going nuts or is it just you, mommy?
Am I plain gone or is it the world?
Mommy, Id rather have you dead than crazy.
All day long I felt like
Smashing my face in a clear glass window.
But instead, I went out
And smashed up a church yard round the corner.

Woke Up With A Monster

Words and music by rick nielsen, robin zander and tom petersson
Hush little darling, dont you cry.
Daddys coming home, coming home tonight.
No bed of roses for your head, for you.
You see no future, its all in the past.
This is a nightmare, wont be your last.
Its hard to admit, its hard to admit youre that blind.
Mommy and daddy dont see eye to eye.
Mommy and daddy dont see when we cry.
Mommy and daddy they dont understand.
Whats wrong with this picture, is right in their hands.
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Woke up with a monster. ah.___

Woke up with a monster. ah.___
Hush little darling, dont be long.
Mommas little angel cant do nothing wrong.
No bed of roses in your head, for you.
Wholl dry your tear when you cry?
Daddys comin home just in time.
Will, he be the one to make it, to help make it right?
Mommy and daddy dont see eye to eye.
Mommy and daddy make each other cry.
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___

Daddy Why?

Daddy why did you leave Mommy before I was born?
Daddy why weren't you there for my birth?
Daddy why did you divorce Mommy when I was only five months old?
Daddy why did you day those mean things about Mommy?

Daddy why weren't you there for my first birthday?
Daddy why weren't you there when I took my first step?
Daddy why weren't you there when I got hurt?
Daddy why weren't you there when I became a teenager?

Daddy you're not going to be there when I turn 16.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I graduate from high school.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I get married.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I have children of my own.

Daddy you're NEVER going to be here.
Daddy you had a choice.
Daddy I chose too.
Daddy I NEVER WANT TO BE LIKE YOU!

What Children Worry About

Mommy

Mommy, mommy
what’s going on in the world today?
Mommy am I going to be OK?
I heard some kids were wearing bombs
and blowing people up..
Mommy their world is very far away.
They can’t come here, right mommy?
Am I going to be OK.

Written: July 17,2007

Daddy

Daddy, daddy

I asked mommy some questions yesterday,
and tears were in her eyes.
She’s really scared daddy,
I know the reason why.
The kids with bombs,
might be here in our schools.
They won’t listen to the rules.
Mommy is really scared that one day,
you’ll both have no choice but to send me away

Written: July 17,2007

Mommy, Daddy

Mommy, Daddy, there’s no reason to fear
I figured it out late last night.
I said the words for God to hear.
I know He knows all things
and will do what’s right,
sooo… we say the words for God to hear,
everyday and every night.
Guess what Mommy, Daddy
everything will be alright.
Mommy, why are you still crying? ? ?

The Diary Of A Young Girl (diary From An Angel)

Dear Diary,

Daddy was on the couch again
Mommy left again.

I walked alone to school today,
Somtimes i feel alone, sometimes I feel like a real lady.

My friend left me at lunch,
I was alone, I miss her a bunch.

I got a bruise from daddy,
He told me I have to do what he says, and call him daddy

Mommy got home late tonight,
But thats no different from every night.

Daddy put me in bed with him,
I said I didn't want to, but he made me do it with him.

I cut myself, I cut my arm,
I sat and did my own harm.

Daddy and mommy were yelling,
Please don't tell, the don't know I am telling.

Daddy threatened me,
He said I ruined his life, and that I can't start new.

Mommy said I was nothing
God said she's bluffing.

Daddy killed mommy today,
As I sat and watched today.

Mommy left me alone here,
I can't feel her near.

Daddy says I'm his now, his to enjoy,
That my body is his toy.

Daddy cut through my body,
He didn't stop, even when i said I had to go potty.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I met god today
I saw mommy's face again today.

I don't want to see daddy again,
Not after the pain he's left with me, with nothing to gain.

I left him alone in the world,
I left him alone.

He hurt me yesterday, that's all I know now,
I'll never forget...... I don't know how

Mommy & Daddy

Ask your mommy and daddy, what happened to the indian?
How come theyre all living in places
With too much snow or too much sand?
Tell your mommy, I got a funny feeling deep inside of me
Ask your daddy, is it really as bad as people make it seem?
Wa ta tick it ta too too..
Ask your mommy why everybody swallows all those little pills
Ask your daddy why that soldier doesnt care who he kills
After theyve put you to sleep and tucked you safely down in your bed
Whisper, mommy and daddy would you rather that
I learned it from my friends, instead?
Do you think Im to young to know, to see, to feel, or hear
My questions need an answer or a vaccuum will appear
Dont be surprised if they turn and walk away
And tell your mommy and daddy that you love them anyway
That you love them anyway...
Give them a kiss
Love will set you free
Kings of emi
Mommy and daddy (alt.)
Ask your mommy and daddy, what happened to the indian?
Ask your mommy and daddy to tell you where you really came from
Then mommy and daddy will probably turn and quickly walk away
Then ask your mommy and daddy who really killed j.f.k
Wa ta tick it ta too too...
Ask your mommy if she really gets off on all her - all her pills
Ask your daddy, why doesnt that soldier care who he kills?
After theyve put you to sleep and tucked you safely down in your bed
Whisper mommy and daddy,
Would it matter if the bullet went through my head?
If it was my blood spilling on the kitchen floor
If it was my blood, mommy, would you care a little more?
Dont be surprised when they turn and start to cry
And tell your mommy and daddy, tell your mommy and daddy
Scream it to your mommy and daddy
Theyre living in a lie, a lie, a lie
Its all a lie, a lie, a lie
A lie, a lie...

Its summertime
And the living is easy
Fish are jumping
And the cotton is high
Your daddy is rich
And your mommys good looking
So hush pretty baby, dont you cry
One of these mornings
Youre gonna wake up singing
Youre gonna spread your wings
Take to the sky
But till that morning
Theres just not a thing that can harm you
With daddy and mommy standing by

Daddy Died Mommy Cried The Little Girl Laughed

Daddy is dead
Mommy shakes her head
They say Mommy poisoned him
And all the little girl can do is laugh

The little girl wanted to shout joyfully
It was all the little girl's fault
The little girl poisoned Daddy
Finally the little girl's revenge

Mommy and Daddy used to beat the little girl all the time
Mommy would watch and laugh while the little girl screamed
Because Daddy was raping the little girl

Two Little Orphans

Two little children a boy and a girl
Sat by and old church door
The little girls feet were as brown as the curl
That fell on the dress that she wore
The little boys clothes were all tattered and torn
They shone beneath his blue eyes
Why dont you go home to your mommy I said
And this was the maidens reply
Mommys is heaven angels took her away
Left jim and I all alone
Weve no one to love us daddy is dead
And our darling mother is gone
Mommy got sick angels took her away
To dwell in those matins so bright
She said she would come for her children someday
And I guess shes coming tonight
The sexton came early to ring the church bell
And found them beneath the snow white
The angels made room for the orphans to dwell
Up in heaven with their mommy that night

The Simple Prayer Of A Child

'missing in action'...
they didnt know...
dont get your hopes up,
we're doing all we can...

she lay on the bed
and wept uncontrollably...
the little boy sat in the darkness,
thinking...

he got down off his bed,
and down on his knees:
'God, if you're out there,
if you're real...

help my mommy, help me,
bring my daddy home! '
the room was still,
he could hear his own breathing...

suddenly light poured through
the window, and flooded his room.
the little boy got up
and ran to his mother's side.

'mommy, mommy, daddy's ok,
he's not lost...'
'what do you mean, honey?
what are you saying? '

'he's not lost, mommy...
remember what he said
before he left...
he's in our hearts! '

she took the little boy
in her arms and hugged him...
they fell asleep in the stillness.
the next morning the phone rang.

she answered, and listened,
her mouth agape...
'what is it mommy, what is it? '
she put down the phone...

'they found him, he's ok,
they said it was dumb luck...'
they hugged each other crying.
dumb luck, i think not...

the simple prayer of a child!

Daddys Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car

Youre a precious stone, youre out on your own
You know everyone in the world, but you feel alone
Daddy wont let you weep
Daddy wont let you ache
Daddy gives you as much as you can take
A-ha, sha-la, a-ha, sha-la
Daddys gonna pay for your crashed car
A little uptight, youre a babys fist
Butterfly kisses up and down your wrist
When you see him coming, youre licking your lip
Nails bitten down to the quick
A-ha, sha-la, a-ha, sha-la
Daddys gonna pay for your crashed car
Daddys gonna pay for your crashed car
Youve got a head full of traffic
Youre a sirens song
You cry for mama, and daddys right along
He gives you the keys to a flamin car
Daddys with you wherever you are
Daddys a comfort
Daddys your best friend
Daddyll hold your hand right up to the end
A-ha, sha-la, a-ha, sha-la
Daddys gonna pay for your crashed car
Daddys gonna pay for your crashed car
Sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturdays alright

2,000 Man

Well, my name it is a number
Its on a piece of plastic film
And Ive been growin funny flowers
Outside on my little window sill
And dont you know Im a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just dont understand me at all
You know, my wife still respects me
Even though I really misuse her
I am having an affair
With the random computer
But dont you know Im a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just dont understand me at all
Oh daddy, proud of your planet
Oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet
Oh mommy. proud of your sun
Oh daddy, your brains still flashin
Like they did when you were young
Or did they come down crashin
Seeing all the things youd done
Spacin out and havin fun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet
Oh mommy. proud of your sun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet
Oh mommy. proud of your sun
Oh daddy, your brains still flashin
Like they did when you were young
Or did they come down crashin
Seeing all the things youd done
Spacin out and havin fun
But, dont you know Im a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just dont understand me at all
But dont you know Im a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just dont understand me at all
Understand me, u-understand me, u-understand me, now understand me
But dont you know Im a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just dont understand me at all
But dont you know Im a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just dont understand me at all
Im a 2,000 man, Im a 2,000 man
Im a 2,000 man, Im a 2,000 man, yeah, 2,000

Restoreth Is The Calm

Daughter of mine, in father's own likeness
Gabriella is your name, hopeful am I of your safety-
So too have I thought of you lately;
More and more, I implore- Daddy is righteous!

One way or another I will be there to your rescue-
Awaiting am I Mommy's inevitable cue!
Mommy made mistakes, told untruths and was erroneous-
In fact, more was it her behavior, more than mine, that was felonious!

Kalina's little sister, Mommy's little girl:
One of Daddy's most revered bequeaths in the whole world!
All my love from afar, to all of you there-
Soon we shall no longer relegate to speaking of care!

Alas, after the storm, restoreth is the calm
Search have we both long and hard for life's balm!

With your crazy hair
And big smile
You brighten my day
Every time…
I see your face

You cry when …
Your hungry
You blow bubbles
When you try to
Be funny

Are insane
But no worries because
Your crazy ass aunt Karen
Is always here to stay …

Dont Cry Daddy

(words & music by scott davis)
Today I stumbled from my bed
With thunder crashing in my head
My pillow still wet
From last night tears
And as I think of giving up
A voice inside my coffee-cup
Kept crying but
And ringing in my ears
Dont cry daddy
Daddy, please dont cry
Daddy, youve still got me and little tommy
Together well find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please dont cry
Why are children always first
To feel the pain and hurt the worst
Its true, but somehow
It just dont seem right
cause evry time I cry I know
It hurts my little children so
I wonder will it be the same tonight
Dont cry daddy
Daddy, please dont cry
Daddy, youve still got me and little tommy
Together well find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please dont cry
Oh, daddy, please dont cry

Surrender

Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you.
She also told me, "Stay away, you'll never know what you'll catch."
Just the other day I heard a soldier falling off some Indonesian junk that's
going round.
Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, ay, ay.
Father says, "Your mother's right, she's really up on things."
"Before we married, Mommy served in the WACS in the Philippines."
Now, I had heard the WACS recruited old maids for the war.
But mommy isn't one of those, I've known her all these years.
Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, ay, ay.
Whatever happened to all this season's losers of the year?
Ev'ry time I got to thinking, where'd they disappear?
When I woke up, Mom and Dad are rolling on the couch.
Rolling numbers, rock and rolling, got my Kiss records out.
Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird.
Surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away, ay, ay, ay.
Away.
Away.
Repeat Chorus 7X

T'was the Night Before Christmas

Her mommy was sound asleep, Her daddy was on the couch, Watchin' the T.V, She got up to use the potty, Hopefully he wouldn't see, Then she got back in her bed, She heard him walkin', And fallin' on the walls, 'cause he was drunk,

Then she prayed: 'Hopefully he wouldn't slap me, Please don't let him kick, Please not a bite or a scratch, Not even a knick, Please don't let it happen, Not on this wonderful night...', Then he opened her door, Grabed her by her neck, What a horibble sight, He put her down with a slam, Grabed her by her hair, And pulled her down the hall,

She screamed, She kicked, Then she yelled, 'WHAT DID I DO? ' After that he let go, He punched, He hit, There was nothing she could do, But lay there and cry,

Then her mommy screamed at her, For making her daddy angry, Mommy grabed a beer bottle, Then through it a her head, Her mommy said 'clean up this mess then go back to bed', She did as her mommy said, Then her mommy grabed her daddy by the arm, And went back to bed, Then she noticed she was bleeding from her head,

She grabed the phone and called 911, But I guess they were to late, 'cause when they got there, She was already dead,

T'was the night, Before christmas, The same night that little girl died, If you listen closely, You can still hear her cry.

Mommy Daddy You I

All the way home from baltimore
We couldnt find a seat
Conductor says hes sorry for
The blisters on our feet
Comes a-riding in a bus
The high and the low
Mommy, daddy, you and i
Going on a trip
And were not going home
Mommy, daddy, you and i
Driving, keep driving
Driving, driving all night
Sleeping on my daddys shoulder
Drinking from a paper cup
And Im wearing my grandfathers clothes
And they say that up north it gets cold
Crawling out of bed one night
Walking in my sleep
Were not the only family
To take this little trip
Driving all the way up
Its 30 below
Mommy, daddy, you and i
Even little kids
Getting ready to go
Mommy, daddy,you and i
Chilly, chilly-willy
Its colder the further we go
Some are born to take advantage
But saying it dont make it so
So hold me and dont let me go
cause the sidewalks are covered with snow
Hes speaking english now
And hes smoothing out his clothes
Hes mr. button down
Hes leaving home
Making changes day by day
And we still aint got no plan
How we gonna make our way
In this foreign land?
Well well keep driving, keep driving
Driving with all of our might
Changing, still changing
Changing the water of life
Keep that little man a shining
See how the tail can wag the dog
And were all riding in this old bus
And the driver is singing to us
And were wearing out grandfathers clothes
cause we heard that up north it gets cold
