I believe that its most important function is in the formation of attachment. If we did not suffer enough loss to fear it, we could not love intensely.

For More Than Fifteen Years
For more than fifteen years he intensely hated life.
For more than fifteen years he intensely hated his parents.
He intensely hated his parents for giving him abuse hell life.
He intensely hated his parents for subjecting him to abuse hell life.
A hell life that no mortal child or man should suffer through live.
A hell life that he a mortal soul could but suffer through die live.
So much of the best of thee could not survive that broken bitter life.
Important parts of thee did not could not survive that broken bitter life.
Only love can restore renew those lost parts of thee.
Only love can restore renew that lost heart of thee.
So many of us are but puzzle pieces of men women we should be.
That is parents crime across generations unabated abuse misuse.
The circle of repetitive violence abuse can be is broken in thee.
You will set all your children and all their offspring free.
You will free generations unborn yet to be.

A sort of Poem about Fear
Are we all initially driven by FEAR?
Is this negative energy in the form of FEAR necessary in Her grand evolutionary scheme?
Perhaps FEAR is the great catalyst in which LOVE is refined:
FEAR of loss of means is refined to a motivational LOVE to find new, more positive means
FEAR of loss of community is refined to motivational LOVE to build and strengthen community
Fear of God is refined to motivational LOVE to protect and bask in all that IS.
Fear of loss of LOVE is oxymoronic as FEAR is the ABSENCE of LOVE
I am not afraid

Hopes and fears hook us.
Hope of gain is more cheerful than the gain.
Hope of love is more charming than the love.
Hope of life is more assuring than the life.
Being slave to hopes, we enjoy most
Fear of loss is more dreadful than the loss.
Fear of pain is more painful than the pain.
Fear of death is more horrible than the death.
Being slave to fears, we suffer most.

Loss Lost in Thought
Loss of love from your partner in soul:
A.k.a. jilt;
Loss of love from your bygones of souls:
A.k.a. mourning;
Loss of love which came from a dearth
Of love through rescinding love:
A.k.a. hatred;
Love to science in analysis be
Secretion of oxytocin in association
With an entity that leads to bonding - so boring:
A.k.a. must all suffer scientific explanation?
Loss of love, a catastrophe, nay!
So love, nurture love, and be loved!
Loss of nature from dear Mother Earth:
A.k.a. destruction;
Loss of greed in material world:
A.k.a. always opportunity for altruism;
Loss of kindness and pity and all:
A.k.a. human nature has dark undertones;
Loss of ego and fire of desire:
A.k.a. loss may be good in consequence;
Loss of responsibility; humility:
A.k.a. loss may be unnerving.
Loss of Homo sapiens:
A.k.a. demise of the flawed primate - pinnacle of Darwinism - equates to
No art; music; poetry; debate, and
Everything innate ornate of human!
So concentrate please, on bliss of this.

He who is overly attached to his family members experiences fear and sorrow, for the root of all grief is attachment. Thus one should discard attachment to be happy.
We Fear Those We Love Will Suffer
WE FEAR THOSE WE LOVE WILL SUFFER
We fear those we love
Will suffer-
We strive to protect them-
But each life has its sufferings
And each story a way to its own pain-
We can care and we can help and we can pray
But we cannot stop
Life from being life.
We pray those we love will not suffer
And they do.

Safe Within The Arms Of Fear
Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.
Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.
What would they do,
If released from their cells...
With a barring done,
That has scarred them for life.
What other devices would inhibit and restrain?
And who will invent a suitable oppressiveness to present?
Safe within the arms of fear,
Some feel.
Some feel an attachment,
To that which attracts...
And clamps them into a doing,
That addicts.
Frightened they are,
To be freed from their boundaries...
With nothing there but peace to threaten them,
Without conflict to resist and commit total devotion.

l Losses Are Sometime Good...
Loss, most of the time bad. On occasion, great!
SOME TIME A LOSS CAN BE GOOD!
Can loss sometime be happy. You bet! Ask some
divorced couples.
The other guy had a loss and I won!
My ex had a loss, of most of our assets. Yes,
you guessed it, I got 'em!
Insurance companies, now there's some, that
many take great delight,
when they suffer a loss.
When the tax man does an audit, if they have
a loss, we have a win! (best kind of loss)
The person who brings suite against you,
suffers a loss. (Ain't that sweet?)
A hostile mother-in-law, suffers a loss,
when her daughter gets divorced.
When one experiences a weight loss.
Now that's something that would make
millions of people happy!
When the owner of your building, is deemed
to be, 'rent controlled, ' it brings a loss
to the greedy titleholder. (break out the champagne)
When the neighbor you hadn't spoken to for years,
has a loss, of the keys, to her car.
When the kid, who keeps running over your lawn,
with his bike, has a loss, of the two wheel monster.
When you child, who you love, but drives you nuts
with their loud music, has a broken stereo,
and a loss of music. (They're unhappy. You're ecstatic.)
When one has a loss of sleep, because their spouse
was amorous all night. (Ahhhh, the good old days.)
When your in-laws, prepare to come to your house,
for the first time, and have a loss of directions.
When your spouse, who cremates every barbecue
they ever handled, has a loss of the coals.
(Actually you hid them.)
When the know-it-all comes to your home, and
can't say a word, because they had a loss of
their dentures.
Remember...If you have a loss, sometime,
the loss is good!

Giving Up All Attachment To Love
'Giving up all attachment to love.'
That doesn't make sense.
'Why...
You don't like it? '
It's a bit absurd to me.
When love makes the world go round.
'What are you talking about? '
You just said...
Giving up all attachment to love.
'Oh...
That has nothing to do with you.
I was just thinking of a title for a poem I am writing.'
I thought you and I were having a conversation?
'We are.
I'm just waiting for you to say something interesting.
And when you do...
I will participate.'
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend?
'I love it.
Thank you.
Listen to this...
Giving up all attachment to love.
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend...
Go on.'
I don't even know why I am here.
You are sick.
You know that?
'Where are you getting this from?
I love it.
Listen...
Giving up all attachment to love.
Why do I keep believing,
To me you will ever be a friend...
You are sick.
You know that? '
You really are.
'Stop it.
Is this your own stuff?
You should be a writer.
I am stealing this.
I don't care what you say.
It is magnificent.'
I'm leaving.
'Why? '
We were suppose to go out to dinner.
'Why didn't you remind me?
You think I'm suppose to remember everything? '

Wolfpack
Howling the pack in formation appears
Diamonds and clubs, light misted fog, the dead
Waving us back in formation,
The pack in formation
Bowling they bat as a group
And the leader is seen - so early...
The pack on their backs, the fighters
Through misty the waving - the pack in formation
Far reaching waves
On sight, shone right
I lay as if in surround...
All enmeshing, hovering...
The milder I gaze
All the animals laying trail
Beyond the bough winds
Mild the reflecting electricity eyes...
Tears, the life that was ours
Grows sharper and stronger away and beyond
Short wheeling - fresh spring
Gripped with blanched bones - moaned
Magnesium, proverbs and sobs...
Howling the pack in formation appears
Diamonds and clubs, light misted fog, the dead
Waving us back in formation,
The pack in formation...

It’s important … to know who the real enemy is, and to know the function, the very serious function of racism, which is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work. It keeps you explaining over and over again, your reason for being. Somebody says you have no language and so you spend 20 years proving that you do. Somebody says your head isn’t shaped properly so you have scientists working on the fact that it is. Somebody says that you have no art so you dredge that up. Somebody says that you have no kingdoms and so you dredge that up. None of that is necessary. There will always be one more thing.

I Fear Death
I fear the loss of ludicrousy,
And the end of misery,
The end of the unsightly swayings
Of an otherwise busy
Surrounding.
I fear the stillness of serenity
And the calmness of certainty
In the falling emptiness
We call darkness
When we haven't a clue
As to what carries us.
I fear the loss of blind faith
And practical fallacy,
The folly of fondness
And occasional fondling
Of a passerby waitress,
Waiting equally
For an unknown calamity
To carry her into infinity.
I fear the loss of un-clarity
And anonymity.
And the things one thinks of
When feeling on an ordinary day.
I fear the loss of time
And the inability to keep
What is lost.
I fear the reaper.
And the indifference I will feel
When existence escapes me
On the fateful day
When I lay there empty.
And careless,
So careless,
Unable to remember any of it.

Sonnet: Excessive Love is Futile
To love something too much could turn out bad,
For time decides the loss of many things;
When separations make a person mad,
Both peace of mind and heart can take on wings!
Attachment in excess could boomerang;
A bereft state cannot be lived at all;
Possessiveness could work like poison-fang,
Triggering person's defeat and downfall!
Better not to develop attachment much;
All states of life are not so permanent;
Much closeness can offset the magic touch,
As many things in life can cause a dent!
Don't love a thing in ways it doesn't deserve;
Love God alone with heart and mind and serve!

The Moose and the Goose
The mighty mad moose said to the gentle gliding goose,
“It’s not fair you fly in formation while I suffer much abuse.
Wind and breeze are there as you fly first class.
I’m down here on the ground fighting weeds and grass.”
The flock of geese had just landed for some food and rest,
And here is this mighty mad moose acting like a real pest.
But the head gliding goose had a gentle reply,
“Mighty mad moose you’re upset and I don’t know why.”
“Each year we chart the route for you mighty moose.
We’re the train’s engine, while you have freedom of a caboose.
Pay attention to our direction as we geese pass over;
Then you moose will know the way and have time for clover.”
Sir moose replied, “You fly south for winter and return in spring.
So all I have to do is remember that one important thing.
As I browse through trees and brush, I need to raise my eyes
To see you all as you map our way through the skies.”
The attitude of mighty moose changed from mad to glad,
Since he understood the treasure that he really always had.
As the gentle gliding geese flew off in formation,
Mighty moose smiled and tipped his antlers in appreciation.

True Fear
true fear,
it cannot be lost of material item,
no,
is it loss you life,
loss of friend?
loss of family?
bieng alone?
but surely,
a brave soul must give,
give to utter nightmare,
if this true fear,
is worth what you make it,
if is not worth giving a life,
then call it not a true fear,
great maybe,
major sure,
but true fear,
impossible,
true fear is entire surrender,
mental collapse,
such a horror,
dont call it true,
if is not true,
or true fear,
will devour,
and it eats well, all too well...
for the fragil presence,
of our sanctity,
will shatter,

Loss Of...
Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of dreams, the dreams of tomorrow
Loss of the moments you two should have shared
Loss of opportunities to show her you cared
Loss of the memories you both could have created
Loss of the romance once intense as you dated
Loss of a kiss, caress, or embrace
Loss of that special feeling no one else can replace
Loss of a look, the twinkle in her eye
Loss of the touch as you pass each other by
Loss of a future, from a past of regret
Loss of a last chance, how many do you get
Loss of a promise you never meant to break
Loss of two hearts that forever will ache
