Don't Waste That

sailboat is making its turn
blocking rising morning sun
bright yellow blankets mine
i see birds; check marks
flapping wings departing
against on rushing tides

kissing rocks to submission
crabs retreating to crevices
chase by unforgiving beaks
spear dive for huge pelican
that means hunting is survival
everybody is hungry; it's real
