Sunset Hill
On rare occasions,
A stranger will appear
With mystical eyes
Of perception
And gaze into the souls
Of everybody in the room
Through the concealing clothes
Of their secretive ambitions.
A poor man
In tattered attire
Will sometimes
Have the honor
Of placing a necklace
Around the throat
Of a princess.
I ceaselessly repeat mistakes
That injure the people whom I love
And have suffered many cycles of reincarnation
As an ill-thought of fool,
But even this dog will have his day
And sway the girl
Hesitant to meet at the sunset hill.
