Music and Poetry

Lord Apollo, I’m like a lost man
Who has suffered the worst defeat,
The forever disappearance of his daughter;
I’m drunk from the cup of sorrow and praying
To your poetic heart of music to return my happiness again.

I’ve visited your shrines
And lit candles in the night sacrosanct,
I’ve tried to capture innocence and beauty
Like a child in the sunlight.

I spend so many days adrift in weeping
And walking the loveless streets
Searching for my soul
Abandoned to a woman’s heart.

I need a new song, Lord Apollo,
And I’ll relinquish everything else I’ve known,
I seek the solace of oblivion.
