Rogue Comet

Lost amongst dark
regions in solar space
moves nameless comet
unknown unbidden
phantom menace
time space dissects
orbit moving inbound.

To soon observatory
spots impending course
telescopes join watch
in countless numbers
as luminous tale grows
ever more blazen across
red dragon night sky.

Such beauty inspires awe
apocalyptic wonder frenzied fear
time riots suspends hangs
for full measure as fame grows
with discussions transcending
invoking life death rituals
till trajectory moments igniting

atmosphere sonic boom rending
shattering across fatal ruinous sky
until moment of deep impact
a moment when doomed world
changes unalterably extinction
event imminent darkness descends
