Blessings Tears Offered In Prayers Prayed

in this quiet house built on high ground
burns sacred incense with prayers
prayers prayed for souls of our drowned
sandalwood smoke in longevity rises

blessings tears offered in prayers prayed
in house on high ground purchased
father’s words echo build on high ground
