Answer to Prayer

Intervention given
responses finally heard
doubts all forgiven
sickness finally cured.

Prayers we have raised
for miracles here on Earth
but at the end of the day
only love can give birth

to our souls' calm acceptance
of your holy will,
for only in the eternal
can the present be fulfilled.

So reconcile us to the mystery
that surrounds our little lives.
Open our eyes to see
the brilliance of your living light
