WHY NOT A POEM RIGHT NOW?

Why not a poem right now
When the errands are pressing to be done
And the world is wasting and spending?

Why not a poem right now
Before the house falls down
Because no
has labored patiently
to keep it up?

Why not a poem right now
To escape from life
To a bit of beauty
That pays for nothing
And supports and sustains
No one he loves?
