AND I DON’T HAVE / THEIR KIND OF WORDS

And I don’t have
Their kind of words.
Keats, Hopkins, Stevens
Shakespeare, Dickinson.
I don’t have
Their kind
Of Poetry.
A higher deeper
More beautiful poetry-
I don’t have it.

I have simple words
And a tired old soul
And a love of God,
And a singing in the wilderness
