I Rarely Write A Poem Of Night

I rarely write a poem of night
I do not love the darkness-
I do not love less light-
But I know the night has beauties of its own
Its own special spaces-

Perhaps it is the sense that the end
Is more closely connected with the darkness-
Day as life, death at night-

I do not love the night
And I rarely write a poem about it-
