I Am An Old Man Now

I AM AN OLD MAN NOW

I am an old man now.
I am saddened by this
Where has life gone?
What have I done with it?

Thank God- the real sickness and real pain
Have not come yet.
They will – if I stay alive that long.

They say one should think ‘young’
And act ‘young’ and be ‘young’
As long as one can.

I write this somehow still
While sad within me about
All I have not done and been
That I dreamed to do.
