After Yeats

AFTER YEATS

An old man is a broken string
Playing a creaky shattered note
And every song he tries to see
A sadness instrumentally.

So what he finally dares to hope
As the music of his soul
His prayer upon pathetic beats
Deaf Drumming Divine Harmony.
