Body Language
The cute guy with the electric smile
seemed to be looking my way.
I, coyly, smiled at him,
blushed a little.
Well, at 18, I was quiet,
not the flirty type,
so boys never noticed me,
hugging the wall.
The guy was still looking, smiling
and then he walked towards me.
My heart fluttered
as he came closer.
Its beat slowed as he neared
and then, faltered
as he walked straight passed
towards my gorgeous friend.
He asked her to dance,
she never even turned her head,
her resounding ‘no thank you'
echoed all around the hall.
At this he plainly staggered
his smile gone, his head low,
his shoulders bent over,
yes __ his body said it all.
