Generation to generation

I am lazier than my father
And my son is lazier than me.
I learn more than my father
And my son, more than me.
I earn more than my father
And my son, more than me.
Am I secure as my father was?
Is my son secure as I am?
Generation to generation,
Do we progress or regress?
