Zorro's Face

it was the mask
that you identify Zorro with
his whip and his black cape
his swiftness with his sword and
his faithful horse

me too
i have sometimes mistaken
the face of sorrow
with the mask of Zorro

the whip and blackness of his capes
and his faithful horse
his wars and losses as mere metaphors
