Why Did You Burn That Boat?

try living in an island
just you and the coconut trees
hear the sounds of birds
migrating
sounds of flocks
fading in a distance
what is left is the
song of this river
the changing hues of the skies
the coldness at night
stories that you repeatedly
tell upon yourself

there is a boat that is ready for your exit
towards the city

what did you burn it?
