When You Finally Have Nothing

the soil has gone barren
rivers run dry
blue clouds fade
the horizon is gray

your hands have nothing
and it is this time
when you can discern the
true color of
your surrounding

when your eyes show the
sleepless moment
you see them moving away
from you

you thank that moment
when the pool becomes crystal
clear

even the dry leaves
that leave sooner
shall tell the truth
