The Morning After By A Room Window Where We Sleep

one thing with light
is its beautiful muteness

it comes bringing silence
and lands on the pillows and blankets

not even the cat's careful feet
not even the soft feather of a sparrow

the curtains open and everything is still
someone leaves without the use of a word

i must stop thinking for i too must keep going
