Remembering Carlota De Pio

she walked into a desert room
where the window looks out
directly to the open galaxy
where shooting a star
is the only common game

and the only trees
she saw are open hands
without roots
the people maybe
had walked out from
there a long time ago

(but how did she really know?)

the only water there was a drop
hanged frozen
between the ceiling and the floor
