On Mat Weaving

we gather the leaves of the buri palm
sort them and cut them to desired
width and lengths and dry them
and in time
weave them into mats

we make the designs and
dye them in colors
like birds and flowers and
houses by the mountains

and then when we are finished
after such a delicate and
tiring work
we look at these mats
and then we use them like
other useful items

we spread them on the floor
inside the house
or we spread them on the grass
under the tree
and then we sleep on them

and then we make our big dreams
or the small ones even

we relax on our own creations
perhaps just like

making poems
