If You Can't Sleep Tonight

despite having counted
a hundred sheep
and you cannot still sleep
tonight
how about counting those
who are dead?

those who died of poverty
in the slums of India
those who died of hunger
in the deserts of Africa
those who are abandoned
by their parents
in the Philippines

try it.
