I Was There

at the top
i know what the wind is
its strength
i know how the earth sounds
when the stones pull
the roots of the vine
it gets lonely up there
and no one listens
to the cries of the tears
the river seduces me
to jump
but i did not listen
i have known how to go up there
and i have also known
how to go back down
with all the dignity of the soles
of my feet
