I Have Nothing To Offer To You

when you turn me off
what can i have but
silence
i become the inanimate
television
that watches you

stoically
i do nothing more than what you
can do to yourself

i do not have those eyes that
can say yes
neither do i have the courage
to say
no to you

i am the wood and wire
assembled
insignificant because you
have decided
to deprive me of my own
meaning

i neither have life
nor death
to offer you as
relief
