Apprehension

before the rain
there was this gray cloud
it was that sad

it was before you cried
that sticks in my memory
the tweezers
those lines on the face
the twisting lips
the horror in the eyes

and then it rained
and the bridge collapsed
the waters rushed
bringing all the driftwood
and the boas.
