After That Long And Lovely Night

after this long and lovely night
and the morning after
when we are dressed to the truths
of our beings

can i still look at you straight in the eye?
can i still call your name without shame?
can you look at me so gently
and touch my hands again and assure me
that that night
was still as lovely as truthfully as
we still are....

that it was done in the name of love
and that nothing there
was painful?
