A Morning Poetry Ritual

what comes in
let it enter

i always will
each precious hour in the morning

these are guests
that feed us and not us
feeding them

these are the carriers of bounty
the harbingers of good news

the doors are open
and so are the arms

the hands are ready
the monitor is awake

and then the fingers
start to press the words.
