A Happy Birthday Surrounded By Percents

i may have seen the wrong
greeting posted
on your birthday today

i have not seen
the presents
or the cake
or the smile of friends
surrounding you
as you blow
the candles and make
your last wishes

correct my eyes
but i have seen
you surrounded
with percentages
