The Book Of Pain
One smile from your seductive eyes
is all it took to hypnotise.
Instantly I belonged to you,
my heart, soul, and body too.
You knew what you had done to me
and cared not for my dignity.
You teased and tempted, and gave me pain,
then you stopped and did it again.
Your flirtatious games with other men
caused emotional pandemonium.
I felt like killing you and the other guys,
but I listened to your worthless lies.
Chaotic emotional extremes of love and rage
rewrote this book of pain on every page.
To heaven and hell I was too often sent
to which my pillow can bear testament.
Something had to happen to end this pain,
but I desperately desired you again.
I pleaded with you not to treat me this way,
but your eyes said what you had to say.
You decided to end the tug of war of love,
which you pulled and then shoved.
I couldn't believe you would do this to me,
but you were cruelly lacking sympathy.
Overwhelming despair filled my heart,
I hated you for tearing my world apart,
and yet my love for you couldn't be denied,
this was when I considered suicide.
I resisted that urge for an easy way out
and tried to remove all my selfish doubt.
It's not easy to forget your seductive eyes
and the pain when you had me hypnotised.
