Re-united
Can you remember when you were a little girl,
I think we were about nine or ten.
We played together inside your dolls house
and you promised to marry me then.
We were both upset when I moved away
and thought we'd never see each other again.
What a surprise when I saw you yesterday
going to London on the mid-day train.
Our two children seemed to get on very well,
they reminded me of you and I.
You then said it may be another twenty years
before we caught each other's eye.
But then you mentioned where you lived,
and it was only a short walk from me.
We also had in common our single parent status,
I think our future was meant to be.
