A Heart of Stone
This modern day pop singer
sings of a love so strong,
but his own life tells a sad story
of a love that went so wrong.
As a young man he was a Romeo
and he loved many women,
but one day he fell passionately in love
with a woman more erudite than him.
She played him like a violin,
often so soft and sweet,
and then so hard and vicious,
he was a rug beneath her feet.
As the volatile weeks passed by
she grew tired of this game
and told him she had a new love
who drove her madly insane.
She teased him with her new love’s passion
and told him that she could no longer stay.
The new man in her life desired her more,
and wanted her night and day.
That day she walked out of his life,
and he searched for her in vain.
She’d gone where she couldn’t be found,
and he never saw her again.
His heart was left with an open wound
after she had left him all alone.
He never got over the love of his life,
which left him with a heart of stone.
