A Haystack Called Happiness
I thought that I would begin your day,
with a mixed flower bouquet.
There's going to be a change in the weather,
so let's spend the day together.
We'll go to the country on a Barton bus,
and walk where people won't bother us.
We'll saunter hand in hand, talk and kiss,
and find a haystack called happiness.
We'll lie on top and catch the sun
and if it rains we'll have some fun
by digging a tunnel inside the hay,
and make the most of this your day.
After that we'll find an old country pub
where the locals will sit and stare at us.
We'll sip our beer and talk, and eat,
whilst the locals look on in disbelief.
They'll see the hay still in our hair
and watch as it falls around the chair.
They'll no doubt smile at the untidy mess
and know of the place called happiness.
We'll return their smiles, and I'll pick up the hay,
and we'll keep a piece each for a memory day.
The touch of the piece will then take us back
to the day we shared in the happy haystack.
