Shickered
Writing is good when
the eyes are swirling,
the swills are a burning
and my visions a whirling,
what's good is that
when I wake up
is that you're still a being,
just a reminder that I
was not a dreaming,
thank you for remembering,
another glass would
keep me tumbling but
keeping it a knowing,
it's not a bad memory
but it sticks like a good beating
Behind a dancing pillar
toppling with the leaves
the squally wind brought
fanning the sibilant embers,
we conquered the undulating
tongues of a shickered odyssey
and with every words
etched or spoken
in the reticent flyleaf
we reckon the gray gradient
of the shabby heaven
we abjure in this bitter
and fastidious living -
tonight
and many a more
we drift with the winds
crimson as our dreams
saliently beckoning
