Killing Unfrothrightly
The engulfing woes
emerging from the screams
that I incarcerated inside
my tacit den of iniquity
grew hands that knew
how to hold daggers
and tersely assassinate
the penetralium of
my frayed struggles with faith
The staid cries whetted
the hapless echoing
of our flamboyant talks
and our flustered endeavors
until the sounds disintegrate
from songs to homophones
and the frames lost
the lacquered photographs
and cradled the many colors
that nostalgia spews
The battle came storming
with sanguinary shades
but I will not fight,
for I cannot fight,
the angry tides collapsing
on the frail monument
of our intermingling shadows
breaking against the lashes
with forthrightly wounds
and deep lacerations
on it stone-flesh.
