Dog-Eats-Dog

I derided the moue
And spitefully broke
A peal of pertinacious fangs
Against the ethereal haunts
With pernicious angst
I scathed the morose
In this dog-eats-dog world
Fogged by a woebegone turpitude
I vied to defile the fragments
With my own opposing
But in the end of the day
Behind the hills of secrecy
And the imposition of obduracy
I am but a dry bone
Brittle by the obtuse feints
That you've taught me then
As an infinite company
And taught me now
As an archenemy -
You've taught me well
We are mongers
Defeated by farcical charades
And lack of humility
Devoured by self-centeredness
And inflicted wounds
Aggravated by
The resistance to assuage.
