A Bend In My Meander

February dawned lackadaisically
Letting down her blackest locks
And I was entangled as the moon was
In the brambly foliage of the clouds
I brushed my numb soles
In the cobbled sidewalk
Sequestered from the crowds,
The strident jealous pangs,
And the myriad of innuendos
Fallen leaves scampered along
Swaying with the night's lazy ticking
Passing hastily in the smokescreen
To reach the lamppost's territory
In the light flooded earth
And I was one with them
Counting pawned breaths
In the foggy blanket
Sundering my meander
From all the lovely paces
Towards all the lovely places

The moon drooped, tapped my shoulders
No different from the tree's boughs
Slender and fragile
Without a sign of life
But veritably possessing a little,
It whispered vaguely of salient words
That I am not the only one
Astray in the dark
Pretending to be the lion of the dusk
Shunning the incorporeal lances
But still attending about
The cold silent war
Of unintentional homicide.
