Strong Swimming

And now slowly nothing happened,
He remained and looked at me;
The pain increased and cheapened,
He at last left me behind seemingly.

I was a strong swimmer,
But he should have won,
And later the swimming was grimmer,
As I laid on the surface in action.

But he should have won,
Leading the academics of acumen.
