The universe is neither good nor bad
It is the glittering brushwork of God-
His creative energy gone purposefully amok.
That we might admire it
Or guess, therefrom, at the mind of its Maker
Dawned on Him in only the vaguest terms
Done, did he disperse Himself within it
Or abandon it altogether?
It seems, the answer, to make some difference-
To make some difference, which of these He did.
