I'm Not Scared

I'm not scared.
Though I'm not prepared.
How do I dare?
I must wade through all this despair.
All the while in disrepair.
I'll have to face it someday.
I'm not scared.
How little well I've fared.
Has anyone ever really cared?
I'm not scared.
Into the battle I must charge.
Though the task seems very large.
Desperation hammers at me like a barge.
I'm not scared.
How could I be?
When the sense of hopelessness tears so hard at me.
I know it's not to be.
With this fate I'm ill at ease.
Dear God help me please.
To this destruction I march on.
One day later the pain will be gone.
I'm not scared of all these things.
For my motivations are pure and clean.
