Windows Closing
I can understand windows closing,
To thwart cross winds...
Of a polluted breeze.
I could not see this with clear vision then,
But today I do not strain...
To see the streaks of despair,
A kept delusion had not seen before seen.
I was one to keep my vision 'clean'.
And full of optimism.
But today Sun rays are not enough...
To obstruct my view,
With many living to spew disrespect and pessimism.
I can understand windows closing,
To thwart cross winds...
Of a polluted breeze.
I can understand faith breakers,
Accepting less.
And expecting more which is obscene.
I also understand,
The mouths of those who have chosen to keep shut.
Since few today seem to have peace of mind.
While many have bartered theirs,
To stay chasing rainbows!
From the comfort of gutters and promising ruts.
And who is going to take the time...
To try to unwind them,
From these self afflicting dreams?
