Validating In Paraded Celebration
An inability to take risks.
And finding a comfort in this,
Leads not to a broadening of one's awareness.
But a growth of insecurities.
One believes by others should be received,
As an exception of character.
And eventually perceived as a life lived by them to be.
With a simple dismissing,
Of this as a blemish.
To allow an achievement,
Of accepted stagnation.
As a flaw of one's personality.
One born without the ability to correct.
As if an ignored deformity much like a birth defect.
Leaving those exposed to it...
Happily feeding its existence.
And validating,
In paraded celebration...
Cheerfully enabling an addict with a fix.
And acknowledging this,
That addict awaits for it to daily get.
'We love you just the way you are.
Unchanged.
As if we were all still in high school.
And 'you' keep us feeling that way.'
