Something Lingers That Identifies

Overplayed serenades made,
Takes away from initial impressions.
Blurted tirades stay as fresh,
As one's first visit to a farm.
Leaving those animals best remembered,
Not only by appearance alone.
Something lingers that identifies...
By type and smell.
And determines whether a return,
Is necessary.
In most cases...
What would be the point,
To relive a stench...
That seems to be forever present.
