Prior to Going Off In a Tantrum

Rarely does anything find its way,
Into our hands by force.
Except, perhaps...
A lost investment signed to document,
The emotions given up...
When one goes through a divorce.

Or the actions of beating a dead horse.
And that can leave one remorseful.
Especially if it was a gift one received.
And one discovers looking in its mouth,
Has such regrettable sorrow.
And a tomorrow envisioned riding it,
Fades quickly away.

Hindsight keeps us all in needless wishing,
For those exceptions we could have made.
Prior to going off in a tantrum.
Knowing those can be controlled most times.
After finding one has come to one's senses.
To realize the expense...
Of exposing a damaging temperment.
