Permanent Residency

Permanent residency.
Initiated by arrogant delights,
For inciting one's will...
To implement,
Coincidential incidents meant.

Inflicting bounty hunter ways,
From aging strategies outdated these days.

And 'still' to this day...
Giving innocent children pep talks, candy and a gun.
Who are then told,
Be brave in play and do not run.
From anyone who comes to threaten.
Or stun.

Remember...
Your domain is to claim.
And this should be honored,
By 'anyone' who dares to say the same.
Fight for your right,
To name and claim!
And fight...
To uphold your honor.

Permanent residency.
This child left alone in the forest,
Afraid and yells!
'A boogie man is scaring me.
Why am I left to scream,
In this living hell?
Why am I left alone...
To return to tell stories?
Glorified with embellishment.
In exaggerated tones?

~Do as you're told!
Be brave and bold.~

And we dwell to deal with this outrageousness.
Excusing our activities that brought to us this unrest.

Seek we do to find light in increased darkness.
With protests that our interests are best kept.
But from who's perspective,
Is this professed?

Ancestors who adventured...
To domesticate the wilderness?
What necessitates,
These undending conquests?

Are those on safe shores,
Feeling more protected?
Or are those risking their necks...
At the benefit of past successes,
Reminiscing their witnessing death?

To forever rejoice,
Wounds left to inspect.
With a consciousness to haunt their choices.
As lives are minimized to diminish victories.

And still...
We with agendas left dependent,
To parade charades in masquerade.
Bleeding in a decadence marketed to praise.
Although independent thoughts...
Are promoted to satisfy,
Those motivations deeply seeded within
Hidden insecurities.

Dazing the minds of those clearly crazed,
With interpretations that offer no escape...
Not today.
From places now committed to stay.
And pay we do for discomforts never to vanish.
Never from us to drift.
With intentions to go away.
