In Agreement With Your Assessment

Perception?
I am aware of your needs.
You announce them,
On a daily basis.

Rejection?
I am not the one,
To manifest your pain.
Or wave a banner to claim it mine.

And not a guilt trip will you stick me with...
As you take my time to whine!
Accept my disconnection,
As a sign of the times...
To release in your ear...
My clearing you out of my mind.

Can you hear me freeing myself of static?
How about the sound,
Of my unpacking of your baggage?
Remember when I carried that on my back?
It is being returned.
I am not your butler, housekeeper...
Babysitter or surrogate weeper.

Imperfection?
I am totally in agreement with your assessment.
And that part of me,
You will never have to see again.
Isn't it refreshing...
To know we are both progressing?
