I Make My Students 'Believe

If it wasn't for me,
They would not know how to use utensils...
To cut their meat.
Eat properly.
Or how to chew with their mouths closed.

Now...
They hardly speak to me.
And...
Want to take full credit,
For inventing the plate!

Does this make me irate?
Of course.
That's how great of a teacher I am.
I make my students 'believe'...
They can walk on water if they wish!
And...
Forget I dragged them,
To the pond for their first lesson!

Today,
They look at me as if I am the one subservient!
And that ain't hardly gonna happen.

I'll let them believe it for a while.
However...
When I get tired of it.
And their taught tricks.
They will know!
And so will you.
