I Do My Best To Be Subjective

Why are you running,
As if your pace is hasted.
What's up with that?

'I've become too mainstream.
My philosophies I once argued,
Are finding acceptance.
And I do my best to be subjective.
To irritate and stir up unrest.'

But shouldn't you be pleased?

'Are you kidding?
Do you know how long it takes,
To establish personality with controversy?
To be pointed out as weird and strange.
Do you know what that does,
To someone with my creative range?
Do yah?

Those had been my attributes and claim to fame.
Now everybody is in on the act.
So I am running away to find a place,
Where I am free to present a strangeness that irritates.
I want those whispers and gossip about me back!

Here?
Here...
I don't even want to be a bag of chips.
Not the way my 'eccentricness' has been dismissed!
Do you know what I had to go through to pay for it?

No...
You don't have a clue!
And that's why I run the way I do.
I want to remain the trendsetter.
You know...
The pacemaker.
That subjective irritator! '
